QuoteBut the movement, whether called conservative or orthodox or traditionalist or authentic, can be hard to define.

Typical ignorance by the author.  There is a slight sneering in the article, however it's not as bad as you would predict.

The important point is that the godless Left is starting to take notice of the rise of Catholicism.  The children of Gen-X have shown up, and it is getting noticed.  In 20 years, THEIR kids will show up as adults.  Also, THE driver of the return of Catholicism, Traditionalists, barely get a mention, except this:

QuoteIt ranges from Catholics who want more incense, to Latin Mass adherents who have brought back ancient prayers that mention "the perfidious Jew."

Fear.

If we don't go through God's Great Reset(TM), you can see how the Church would return.

Very good article; and I saw a headline from Cardinal Burke stating that the efforts to squash the TLM have backfired. I just haven't had the time to look it up and read it.
"The World Must Conform to Our Lord and not He to it." Rev. Dennis Fahey CSSP

"My brothers, all of you, if you are condemned to see the triumph of evil, never applaud it. Never say to evil: you are good; to decadence: you are progess; to death: you are life. Sanctify yourselves in the times wherein God has placed you; bewail the evils and the disorders which God tolerates; oppose them with the energy of your works and your efforts, your life uncontaminated by error, free from being led astray, in such a way that having lived here below, united with the Spirit of the Lord, you will be admitted to be made but one with Him forever and ever: But he who is joined to the Lord is one in spirit." As it says though, very much still a minority, so we must not be lulled into a false sense of security with stories like these IMO. Encouraging, but a long way to go and the devil prowls constantly seeking the ruin of souls.

Fight like a knight, so that I can reward you. Do not be unduly fearful, because you are not alone." (Diary, 1760)

My goal is to post a counter to a Black Pill view, which is going too far the other way.  It's like Gandalf in the LOTRs talking to one of the hobbits about doing what you can.

We are actually winning.  You can be winning, but start in a very deep hole.  There is no more intellectual soul on the Left.  Primitive moslems are beating them, because the Left is only left with A Will to Power, and that is not enough to win.  The Left is now absurd.  But it is a deep hole, and the Left CURRENTLY wields the powers of the terror State.  But that will pass.

Quote15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth after the woman, water as it were a river; that he might cause her to be carried away by the river.

16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the river, which the dragon cast out of his mouth.

edit:  And look at birth rates.  Trads are doing great and in 20 years will have the numbers equivalent to the current moslems in England, as a percentage, which will make them a political power.  And Traditional Catholicism is already the only internally consistent intellectual driver on the Right.  And this article from a leftist media organization shows that the Left even notices.

If the goal is to avoid suffering, returning to a 50's existence with a Trad Church within walking distance and an economy where a man can work a blue collar job and support a large Catholic family, that is not going to happen anytime soon.  We are going to suffer.  Expect persecution, injustice, lies, hatred, ugliness, war, and economic collapse as the debt bubble blows sky high.  We will suffer for Christ.

But we are winning, and victory will be ours.

The first important thing to do for survival is to make the necessary mind set adjustment to emotionally accept the fall of your standard of living and the madness that is already breaking out.

Christ will win, for the sake of the Church. All victory belongs to God. How exactly and when that will happen, nobody knows, except Him. But we know that no other outcome is possible. Christus vincit! Christus regnat! Christus imperat!

The only reason this crisis exists is so that greater good may come out of it. God always does that, He respects the free will of everyone, even the most wicked, but He always turns their evil into greater goodness. It has always been like that, and it will be like that until that Day of Wrath when He returns. Consequently, I suspect that the reason God allowed Vatican II to change the liturgy is so that the Church may learn the lesson never to touch liturgy again. Yes, it turned out to be a very bitter lesson, but it is just and for the greater good of the Church.

I never thought of it that way. Fr. Hesse had some good things to say about how sacrosanct and connected to the faith the liturgy is. He gave the example of a pope who wanted to add some words to the Hanc Igitur and the people almost lynched him for daring to modify the liturgy.

That one is a tough one for me.  Believe it or not, it was the movie about the robots, Wal-E, where all the people can barely walk because all their cares are taken care of by machines that got me thinking.

It seems struggle and hardship are critical.  You really see it in the secular women of the Former West, they are infantile and can't even cook.  Compare them to women a few generations previous (Silent and before).

And with smart phones, the problem has gotten even worse.

On the opposite side you get all of us living in mud huts.  When asked why we don't fix up the place, we reply: "If Allah wills it, the place will be fixed."

It's tough, and I wonder how hard it would be to maintain a virtuous mean.  At a minimum, and probably not a minimum, in a virtuous society I'd favor obligatory military service for all men of 1 year.  Just to kick their butts.  With todays sodomite military, that's a bad idea, but in a Trad-topia, that would be a start.

They are absolutely essential for our well-being. Why else would an all-loving, benevolent God subject us to struggle and hardship?

What's the alternative? Being a dopamine-saturated, morbidly obese, porn addict? Can there be any happiness in that?

Having all your needs met without struggle or merit is pretty much the worst situation you can be in. It makes you indifferent to beauty which is all around us and unable to appreciate life, it makes you ungrateful to God's gifts, it destroys your will to live and makes you utterly miserable, hopeless, and a slave to sin. No loving father would do that to his children, and God doesn't do this to us.

Agree.  But what is the limit going the other way?  Give up electricity?

For men I think it is easier if you make your sons work a year on an all-male blue collar work crew, even if they are going to college.  They won't have any whining in them after that.  (Also give them chores when they are coming up).

For women, it is more of a challenge.  Obviously the girls should help mama with cleaning and cooking.  It also helps putting them in ballet classes with a mean old battle ax.

You mention dopamine, which is why social media is really bad.  It seems to be a particular detriment for women.

Social media is designed to give the user a steady release of dopamine, in order to keep "consuming the content". This prolonged over-stimulation is extremely insidious, addictive, and detrimental to one's happiness. And while it is true that women are specially vulnerable to it, men should not think for a second that they are immune from it.

Dopamine is essential for healthy functioning of the brain, but if it gets released too much over a long period of time - which happens when we overindulge in pleasures - it makes us resistant to experiencing joy, it causes indifference, lack of motivation, depression, and anxiety. It is the cause of all addictions.

Speaking of dopamine, last year I've read a book titled "Dopamine Nation: Finding Balance in the Age of Indulgence" by Anna Lembke, a neuroscientists who specializes in addictions. I think it is a very interesting book, and it contains some solid practical advice (most of which should be familiar to any Catholic), but it is not easy to read. Some of the descriptions of addictions in it are extremely disgusting. Definitely not for children. However, despite the gruesomeness, a great value in this book is that it reaches the same conclusions as what the saints have been preaching for millennia. What is objectively true is true no matter how one reaches that truth.

Running away from hardships only brings more hardships. Fasting makes one capable of experiencing more joy in life, while gluttony makes one miserable.

I don't think these boys ever whined in their life after they grew up to be men:
