Yes you're right. However, it is still true that, although the origin may be as you say, and I understand the meaning of your post. I don't think feudalism is necessarily the system we should aspire to as Catholics. there are other option. In fact the "Catholic Kings" Isabella and Ferdinand, whom some want to canonize, were in charge of limiting feudalism by reducing the power of the feudal lords.

An example is the creation of the Holy Brotherhood (Santa Hermandad) If I'm not mistaken, it's the first police force in history. From there it's the Crown, the Central State, who is in charge of protecting peasants, travelers and merchants, and not the feudal lords. King Ferdinand becomes Master of the military orders, which transfers command of the army to the Crown. Also the adjustments in justice to create something more similar to modern courts, for example rescuing the figure of the Roman magistrate.
