A while ago I came up with an idea for encouraging Catholic literacy by awarding video game-like achievements for reading literature.  Each achievement would require the reader to read and show comprehension of literature on a particular topic, or by a particular saint or pope.

One achievement would require having read a list of particular books on the Blessed Mother, another would require reading a certain number of works by a particular saint, still another would require reading books from the Bible, and so forth.

Are there any opinions on this idea?

I say it's a very good idea. I can envision a little green XBox achievement 'blipping' into existence, suspended in midair for 3 seconds after one completes consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary through reading/utilizing St. Louis De Monfort's work, for example.
