Unless you are in the far SW, it appears that most of the US is suffering from chilly, cold, biting ass freezing along with the complementary rain, ice, and snow. Here in southeast central Colorado, aka El Paso County, we have a blizzard from Monument Peak(where I work) to the centre of Colorado Springs. Temp is holding at a crisp 20 degrees Fahrenheit. Seems the whole town is shut down. Even my sister in Tampa St. Pete is getting all refrigerator: 47 degrees overnight. How are things where you are?
Came in early (got in at 0500) with the intention to leave early. Instead the dang base shut down and I'm stuck here until my relief arrives -- which he can't, since the base is shut down. So who knows, I might be leaving at 1500, or might be leaving sometime tomorrow morning.
A balmy 68 in Houston but it has been relatively very cold the last few days. My windshield was frozen yesterday morning! Very unusual for here. Stay warm my Yankee friends.
Even here in the far Southwest our temperatures are approaching freezing at night. But they rise with the sun. It's in the low 40's now, supposed to get into the 50's later in the day.

It was -25 celsius (-13 f) this morning here in southern Ontario. It's up to -9 celsius (15.8 f) now, and it's suppose to go to 2 celsius (35.6 f) tomorrow. Strange weather.
Cold and snowy. Minus 7 for the high today and tomorrow. Minus 19 for the low. Brrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Freezing rain and then snow here in St. Mary's yesterday; today we have clear skies, with temperatures temperatures in the low twenties to low thirties. Not bad as Winter weather goes; but waaay to cold for this Southern boy.
Supposed to hit -16 Friday night. We got about five inches of snow over night (to add to the seven or so we got Friday night. It was a snow day today. Hoping for another one tomorrow.
Either side of zero F for the last two weeks. Had 14 inches on Sunday. Freezing rain tonight.
I'm in the SW, lucky me. 64 degrees at 3PM - and it is warming up into the 70s this weekend. I do talk to my sister in PA everyday, so have some idea of what some of you are going through (not the same as being there).

Our high tomorrow is negative 20 and low is negative 36. Pretty similar for the rest of the week. We had snow come in yesterday, but not a whole lot.

Was in Tulsa, Oklahoma for the past few weeks and the temperature ranged from 20 to about 55 the whole time. Flew back to Ontario on Friday evening and was greeted by -17.

Ole Miss was a typical S.Eastern University; beautiful red brick buildings; rolling hills; ante-Bellum style administration Bld. Rabid football fans; rooting for their beloved "Rebels". "Dixie" was still the official fight song; small Rebel flags were distributed before the game, and when the team would come out, the band would strike up the rousin music, the whole stadium would be a sea of Rebel flags, and alive with the sound of Rebel yells. It was very exiting. "Coronel Reb" that year was Mr. Coolidge Ball, the black star of the Basketball team. He participated in the Homecoming parade in full Confederate Officer's dress uniform. Dixie was banned a few years latter and so was their "Coronel Reb" mascot. So I witnessed almost the end of the era.

I lived in Miami for 25 years; I remember going on vacation to Miami when I lived in El Salvador; we would arrive in early November or late October; the weather would be almost perfect; temperatures in the low 80's low humidity, nice Easterly breeze, very little rain. Then when we moved there in July 3, 1967; the airport terminal doors opened and a blanket of heat and humidity hit me in the face; what in the world! I had never experienced a S. Fla. Summer before, and I was miserable. But I eventually got used to the weather and came to love it.
It will be interesting to gauge the births along the Front Range of the Rockies in January: a five day stint with rain/snow/sleet at 6200 feet. In the higher elevations measurable snow. Highs only in 40s or low 50s. Good weight lifting weather, I guess. Keeping the snow shoes in view in case I decide to get real high(er) elevation.
In regards to post #20 above, we got 12 inches overnight. On May 21. But wait! There's more! DO not put away the skis just yet, wax 'em if you got 'em!

It was a steady rain here for almost a day: everything is saturated to the point of literally sinking into the ground. My dogs are filthy, with muddy paw prints decorating the floors. Today was the first day since I've moved that I really longed to be in the West again. While the air temperature there is pretty cold, the sun, snow, and sand make the mood much better than mud and moderately mauve, moonless skies.

I have 2 family birthdays (not mine) this weekend plus Labor Day plus Church, and none of the locations have A/C. But maybe we'll go to the beach for one of the b/days. Church is outside and it is usually breezy and pleasant. So we'll survive, although it will be warm.

My condo currently doesn't have A/C and it is supposed to be in the 100s (as high as 105 and even 108) over the weekend. It cooled down a lot earlier in the week from the week before, but that was a temporary respite.
I have 2 family birthdays (not mine) this weekend plus Labor Day plus Church, and none of the locations have A/C. But maybe we'll go to the beach for one of the b/days. Church is outside and it is usually breezy and pleasant. So we'll survive, although it will be warm.
We are mild in lower Midwest for this time of year.

Yeah we have been getting nice early fall weather for the past week here in southern Ontario as well. It's forecast to be the same for the next week.
Rocky Mountain West to get snow midweek. I really, really want to move back. There is going to be a 51 degree temperature swing within 24 hours from Tuesday to Wednesday in Colorado Springs. Back in the mid 90's I was watching an early season Air Force Academy football game, probably mid to late September, and was mesmerized by the relentless snow that Thursday evening. I am going to move back. Along the way, I am going to pick up Michael Wilson. Together with him, Gardener and I will reclaim the region for the King of Spain.
I was reading the Farmer's Almanac is predicting lots of snow for this coming winter. They have been wrong before though.
