My first press release. Let me know what you think. Here goes...

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Tautkus Studio Publishes An Undiminished Graphic Novel About Our Lady of Fatima.

Easton, PA. June 25th, 2024.

George Tautkus, founder/ CEO/ only guy at the desk at The Tautkus Studio, just published a graphic novel about Our Lady of Fatima. This release coincides with the 107'th anniversary of the miracle of the sun. The story of Our Lady of Fatima  deals with the apparitions of The Blessed Virgin Mary to three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal, in 1917. The events that follow, in the graphic novel, and in real life, reveal startling messages that, if heeded, will change the course of history for Russia and the rest of the world. It's currently available at: http://www.tautkusstudio.com

Other comic adaptations of the story of Our Lady of Fatima exist, but, at 225 pages, this edition stands at the most complete comics treatment of the Fatima story to date. "Most Fatima comics end with the miracle of the sun, which is a good ending. But so much more happened after that. My comic goes into the penitential lives of the three shepherd children after the miracle of the sun. It follows Lucia's life as a religious. It doesn't shy away from controversy surrounding the events after the apparitions." -George Tautkus.

With Pope Francis consecrating Russia, Ukraine and the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 2022, some might wonder about the context of that act. This book gives the answer.

This is a publication by The Tautkus Studio's imprint "Lives of the Saints (and people who lived saintly lives)." George Tautkus started publishing Lives of the Saints (and people who lived saintly lives) in 2005. After a successful career as an underground cartoonist publishing his comic series, KRUNK, George Tautkus was drawn in a different direction: "I came across these great stories about saints, thanks to publications from Catholic Family News, TAN books and The Remnant. I realized that these stories would make great comics. But no one was was making these comics. So, I put KRUNK on the back burner and devoted my time to a new series called Lives of the Saints (and people who lived saintly lives). That was nineteen years ago. There's currently no end in sight."

Lives of the Saints distinguishes itself from other Catholic comics in that it takes the form of alternative comics. "While I like a lot of other Catholic comics, their realization is often ill fitting. It's hard to fit Catholic comics into the superhero mold, because an overemphasis on action results in contrived drama. Fitting Catholic comics into a pictorial historical narrative mold goes the other direction. The comics become passive and bland. The newspaper comic format can work, if properly applied. I, personally, prefer the alternative comics format. It allows for a more contemplative tone that better corresponds with the lives of the saints. And, since it is flexible, the alternative comics format allows for the incorporation of action, pictorial history and characteristics found in newspaper comics." -George Tautkus

George Tautkus began his comics career in 1998 with the creation of KRUNK comics. In 2001 he earned his BFA from VCU and founded The Tautkus Studio. In 2005, he added a new line of comics called Lives of the Saints (and people who lived saintly lives). It was and continues to be the only consistently published Catholic comic in the world. He began a new satirical series called Mister Mortification in 2023, to great acclaim. He is currently working on a comic about St. Mary of the desert. He is also writing more Mister Mortification comics. One of which is a modern version of Dante's Inferno. He thinks there are a few more people who belong in hell.
