Justin Martyr

Back in Roman times, atleast men had the stones to cut their own bellies open (such as Cato the Younger). Nowadays these sissies just hop into their death chambers and leap painlessly straight to hell.
The least departure from Tradition leads to a scorning of every dogma of the Faith.
St. Photios the Great, Encyclical to the Eastern Patriarchs

CANON I: As for all persons who dare to violate the definition of the holy and great Synod convened in Nicaea in the presence of Eusebeia, the consort of the most God-beloved Emperor Constantine, concerning the holy festival of the soterial Pascha, we decree that they be excluded from Communion and be outcasts from the Church if they persist more captiously in objecting to the decisions that have been made as most fitting in regard thereto; and let these things be said with reference to laymen. But if any of the person occupying prominent positions in the Church, such as a Bishop, or a Presbyter, or a Deacon, after the adoption of this definition, should dare to insist upon having his own way, to the perversion of the laity, and to the disturbance of the church, and upon celebrating Pascha along with the Jews, the holy Synod has hence judged that person to be an alien to the Church, on the ground that he has not only become guilty of sin by himself, but has also been the cause of corruption and perversion among the multitude. Accordingly, it not only deposes such persons from the liturgy, but also those who dare to commune with them after their deposition. Moreover, those who have been deposed are to be deprived of the external honor too of which the holy Canon and God's priesthood have partaken.
The Council of Antioch 341, recieved by the Council of Chalcedon

Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner.

"I can't walk, my speech is f–ked up and I can't do anything for myself," Fleischman, who is confined to a wheelchair, told The Post. "My wife helps me get into bed and I can't dress or put on my shoes. I am taking a gentle way out. It is the easiest way out for me."

It's the easiest way to go straight to Hell.

What a waste of a life.
"For there are no works of power, dearly-beloved, without the trials of temptations, there is no faith without proof, no contest without a foe, no victory without conflict. This life of ours is in the midst of snares, in the midst of battles; if we do not wish to be deceived, we must watch: if we want to overcome, we must fight." - St. Leo the Great

How ironic is suicide. Suicides want to run away from suffering, but paradoxically they are throwing themselves headfirst into an eternal pit of suffering, very much greater suffering than they experienced on Earth.

So ironic and sad.

And take his wonderful second wife with him..

If there is denial of the humility through carrying the cross and the acceptance of the truth that our life is not ours and our soul belongs to God, then this form of ending human existence by putting the "life" just in the hands of humans who reject His will shall happen.

Submission to His will shall never lead us into this kind of temptation. God bless all of us.

I read the article and noted the irony:  There is nothing "dignified" about taking one's own life.

I'm also not convinced that perhaps earlier drug use (?) contributed to his current problems, since the writer also made clear that in this highly knowledgable period of medicine, there is no definitive diagnosis of what afflicts him, which is not Parkinson's.

This is not to say that I am not sympathetic with anyone in that difficulty; I am, and would dread it as well.  But I would obviously not consider suicide "a solution."  It's spiritual death of an eternal pain far worse than what he is experiencing, and a spiritual agony that intensifies progressively, eternally.

I suspect she's too smart for that.  Just sit back and enjoy the loot.   Heck, she might have gotten tired of waiting and started showing him articles on Switzerland.
