Dominic's Oktoberfest Dancing
« on: October 01, 2017, 05:30:31 PM »
Dominic had a great time at the Oktoberfest.

He got picked up for a dance with Frau Schafer and she won his little heart. Refused to dance with anyone else the rest of the night, including his own mother.

Owing to my Protestant upbringing, I did not dance. Instead, I engaged in lovely conversation with a good friend over some KoC provided beer.

His moves need some refinement.

Not sure where he got the idea that falling down is part of how it's supposed to go.

see, that's how a knee should be taken, NFL guys -  in inhibited joy and celebration.

Love his precious little face, and name.  Prayers for his sweet soul.
They shall not be confounded in the evil time; and in the days of famine they shall be filled
Psalms 36:19

Oh, Gardener, his face is too cute! I would dance with him, but I can't dance anymore. No balance. Right brain injury.

When my Dominic was 4 he danced up a storm at my oldest daughters wedding. Well, it started out like dancing. It quickly downgraded as soon as he realized that on his belly, his tux was so slippery he could just slide across the floor with a few good pushes.
To board the struggle bus: no whining, board with a smile, a fake one will be found out and put off at next stop, no maps, no directions, going only one way, one destination. Follow all rules and you will arrive. Drop off at pearly gate. Bring nothing.

Whew! I bet he slept well that night!
In conclusion, I can leave you with no better advice than that given after every sermon by Msgr Vincent Giammarino, who was pastor of St Michael’s Church in Atlantic City in the 1950s:

“My dear good people: Do what you have to do, When you’re supposed to do it, The best way you can do it,   For the Love of God. Amen.”

Aren't you concerned about exposing a child that young to polka music? Isn't this a form of abuse?

No more so than the abuse of him demanding we listen to "Down By The Station" 43 times in a row on a long drive.

Oh how cute is he?!!  That was adorable, Gardener.  That little laugh just made my day!  How long have you been teaching him to break dance?  He's quite good.  Thanks for posting it.

Let the Lord take care of those whom you think have harmed you. All you have to do is love and forgive. Try to forget and leave all else to the Master.”– Mother Angelica
