Hi we are homeschooling two girls, a 7 and an 8 year old, and we are looking for a book or curriculum for (English) language arts that studies Latin and Greek roots. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I'm not sure what age/grade that book is meant for, and I've never used it, but I have heard of it before.

Classical Academic Press also has Song School Greek and Latin programs for children that fit your girls' ages.  I've used their materials before, though not the Song School programs.  I like their materials, and have heard good things about the Song School books.

Something that we used was a card game called "Rummy Roots":  https://www.rainbowresource.com/product/007729/Rummy-Roots-Game.html This might be better for your girls' ages than the books on the subject.  English from the Roots Up (that Munda mentioned) is recommended for grades 4-12.  All of the books I can think of are for children older than yours.

We did not do classical roots as part of English.  We used Memoria Press Latin materials, however, which give English derivatives for their Latin vocabulary.  They have a book called Prima Latina that is suitable for ages 7 and 8.

Try to find some old spelling books online.

I did some research and found a program for younger children: https://cathyduffyreviews.com/homeschool-reviews-core-curricula/spelling-and-vocabulary/vocabulary-resources/roots-and-fruits-a-comprehensive-vocabulary-curriculum

I haven't used this myself. From the description, it sounds like it requires a lot of parental involvement.  If this is a problem, you may want to consider delaying introducing this topic until your children are a bit older.
