I'm just surprised that browsers or whatever reads the URL can recognize it.

Because the http servers for youtube are Apache, which runs Linux, which is case-sensitive.

Same thing with SD. Try http://www.suscipedomine.com/forum/INDEX.php

It's not a URL according to the server.

The browser merely sends a request to the server. But to do that it must go back down through the OSI model on your computer. It then converts those letters and numbers into code, and capital letters have a different code than lowercase.

Example:

A - 01000001
a - 01100001

See the difference?

Think of it this way. Say you want to send a letter to me. So you write the address as

"Gardener
123 Anywhere Street
Littleton, CO 80120"

In a Unix based world, I better be named Gardener and not gardener or GARDENER.
My street better be 123 Anywhere Street and not 123 Anywhere street
etc.

Why? Because due to the urban renewal and expansion goals of the Littleton City Council, 123 ANYWHERE STREET is not yet existent. And if it did exist, Gardener does not exist there. Why? Because Gardener exists at 123 Anywhere Street.

Please don't tell my mother this. She freaks out about whether websites and email addresses need to be capitalized.

I did not realize this.

Yes. But that's fine, it's a good one.

I think it had a "boo hiss" below it though.  Always gave me a chuckle.

I think this is also one of Pedro the Lion's best songs... who hasn't been "there"?

Tmbg new album Glean

Super great. Amazing how they have not fizzled out over the years. I truly can't get enough of their work. Well, except for the science worshiping album.
Check out my Lives of the saints comics!
