To board the struggle bus: no whining, board with a smile, a fake one will be found out and put off at next stop, no maps, no directions, going only one way, one destination. Follow all rules and you will arrive. Drop off at pearly gate. Bring nothing.

Good morning all! I'm here!! Who needs pillows??!  ;D (*abruptly comes into the thread by throwing pillows all over the place*)

Fleur-de-Lys

What is going on in here? Blood and feathers all over! This better be cleaned up by Good Morning...

ServusMariae

oh Fleur-de-Lys, I was absent from Carleen & co's conversation earlier on ... so I'm here to add in the fun as requested.  ;D

(& yep, it's morning here in Singapore ... but I presume it's late into the night on the other side, right?)

Yes Servus, it is getting late. What are you doing up so early?  Did you hear your name being bandied around?

LOL ... it's not very early here. In fact, the clock's gonna hit 12 noon soon in a few minutes' time & I have some last-minute graduation assignments to clear. :)

Carleendiane

Oh my, what are you graduating from. I thought you said you did not go to university?

yep you are right, Carleen. I'm doing a Specialist Diploma in Counseling Psychology. Not as fancy as a university degree, but still decent enough to land me a job (hopefully).

*sneaks in, feeling better after my aches and pains earlier, and proceeds to throw pillows at everyone present*

Lumen, you are a sneaky one. Here we thought you incapacitated.  :)
Hehe. Not quite. :)

Sadly, the pains began to stop in the afternoon (they came and went throughout the morning and such), a couple of hours after Mass. :( I get a ride there with my mom and she wasn't feeling up to it either. She had a tooth pulled after an abscess and the tooth didn't come clean (it broke in three places or so), so the swelling and other side effects have lasted longer. I stood up to see if my aching was any better and I got a couple of "warning strikes" (they were pretty relentless earlier in the morning), so I laid back down. I don't like missing Mass, even though I always have a good reason for doing so. It always feels strange.

...

*tosses more pillows while everyone is occupied by my story*  ;)

Servus, congrats on your pending graduation! *throws confetti even though that's usually your thing!*

Ok, Servus, I get it now. That is like getting a certificate here, in a specific field. It is training, just not a degree. Thank you for clarifying. I was curious, though never would think less of anyone for NOT perusing a  university degree. I have no credentials what so ever. Unless M. O. M. counts. :)

M.O.M. definitely counts. :)

I didn't pursue college or university, and I don't think I missed out on much. So many of them seem to have been turned into giant daycare facilities for tantrum-throwing students.

Yes we are open for buxiness. We are mixing some fine drinks for those interested and some soft drinks, such as cocoa, decaf, and beverages of the like. Come, something for everyone!

How about candy? It's Halloween! Happy Halloween to everyone! :D

I'm supposed to have some tacos soon with garlic with the meat to keep the vampires away. ;D

Carleendiane

Kepha, candy is for kids. Adults indulge in adult beverages or maybe a popcorn ball or something like that. Not saying all adult beverages are alcoholic. There is tea, coffee and such. Says the mom who loves Reese butter cups and pbutter M&M's.

It's interesting that you bring up other interests, Carleen.  I'm assuming that you are talking about girls.  This is all somewhat new to me.  I just happened to notice last night that whenever we would come across any pretty girls, he would pull his hood off and flip his hair to the side.  Then when we would get by them, the hood would come back up.  I was cracking up but Hubby didn't notice it.

But you are right, Carleen, this was treated as a serious event in his life.  It made me kind of sad for his Dad.  This was yet another event in this boy's life that he has missed.  He will have few memories to comfort him in his old age.

Instead it gave Hubby one.  He's got quite a few now.  I really can't wait to see what the Protege will do with his life.  It holds so much promise but could easily go either way.

Oh!  I was going to ask, and I hope I'm not out of line with this, but is there anything that you do for boys when an event happens, thus bringing them into 'manhood' for lack of a better term.  I know for girls, she is given a bouquet of flowers and a special dinner is made when her 'special moment' happens.  If this is too personal, I understand.  But if there is something that should happen that isn't, I'd like to take care of it.   :)
