Back on topic, since you avoided answering, may I assume you are displeased at their freedom?

From what I know of their government they do not have freedom, although things are probably more convenient for them now.  I am neither pleased nor displeased.  I am waiting to see how it turns out before concluding that it was a good idea.

More convenient? Do you mean to say that your understanding of the harmful effects of these policies begins and ends with their inconvenience? How ridiculous that you consider yourself an informed and thoughtful person with worthwhile opinions on this. I think it's fair to say that by wait and see you mean that you will be keeping your eyes peeled for news of a certain syereotypical, fear-porn variety ("New Variant Rages through Britain! ICUs Nearing Capacity! Latest Computer Modeling Shows Disaster is Imminent! Experts Call on BoJo to Lockdown the Country!"), while ignoring another kind that you have perhaps become habituated to discounting ("Attendance at Religious Services Returning to Pre-Pandemic Levels, Improvement Seen in Children's Learning Outcomes, SSRI Prescriptions Down 13% Nationally, Unemployment Shrinks for Third Month in a Row")?

Wait and see is a useful watchword, but the question is whether the changes will stick, not whether the overall effect on public health will be good. We already know that it will be.

Severinus, I would find your posts far more interesting if you wrote about what you think rather than telling me what I think.  I actually already know what I think.  It is not especially close to your imaginings.

There is a substantial question there about your understanding of the harms beyond inconvenience, but my creative flourishes were too much for you, and you shut down. This is the problem with stiff, excessively 'logical' minds.

Your "creative flourishes" bear a remarkable resemblance to personal attacks.  I would expect an "emotional" person to like them no more than I did and to react emotionally.

Still can't address the substance? That's okay, I will keep being me, and you can keep dealing with it in losing ways.

If you write about something of substance with out all the personal commentary, I will address the substance.  I am not going to reward you for undesired behaviours.

After the 3 days of darkness it is said that the earth will be empty and people will wander out of their homes and take a while to find people.

So you might experience it again.

And no traffic on the journey out or back again.
You are in good spirits now, obviously.   ;D ;D ;D

P.S.

I try to look on the bright side.

I burn less beeswax candles that way.

If one is not looking forward to God's Wrath then all one ever saw was pictures of a dead aborted baby.  I always saw a dead aborted baby in a picture and it made me very angry.

The government are dropping the mandate for NHS workers and carers.

80,000 unvaccinated people who were facing the sack are now able to stay in their jobs.  The deadline for their first jabs were this week so they played it to the wire.

Austria are loosening also but still no sign of letting up on the vaccine mandate yet.
