Indeed.  We are extremely spoiled.  Its essentially a replica copy of a medieval high German church, I can't recall which one though.  The statue is German though, 17th or 18th century.

Brilliant!
In conclusion, I can leave you with no better advice than that given after every sermon by Msgr Vincent Giammarino, who was pastor of St Michael's Church in Atlantic City in the 1950s:

    "My dear good people: Do what you have to do, When you're supposed to do it, The best way you can do it,   For the Love of God. Amen"

I like this 45 degree design.  Allows people in the pew to see the decorated wreath.

I might borrow that design next year

Wausau.  Although I do darken the doors of St. Patrick's in GB on occasion.

Is Patrick Burkhardt still the MD there?
The royal feast was done; the King
Sought some new sport to banish care,
And to his jester cried: "Sir Fool,
Kneel now, and make for us a prayer!"

The jester doffed his cap and bells,
And stood the mocking court before;
They could not see the bitter smile
Behind the painted grin he wore.

He bowed his head, and bent his knee
Upon the Monarch's silken stool;
His pleading voice arose: "O Lord,
Be merciful to me, a fool!"

The name doesn't ring a bell.  Sorry

Music Director (Organist) in case MD means doctor to you.  The Institute around here publishes the MD's name on the front of the bulletin.

Ah.  Gotcha.  I've never scene the MD's name on their bulletin.

What do you think of the concept of a Christmas Crib Advent candle combination?

The slanted wreath above gave me the idea.  You could have a cave opening in a 45' cliff with the crib inside lit by LED bulbs (battery powered), then integrate the candles into the hillside with the white one above the cave.

Crib would be empty (maybe an OX and Ass in it) until Christmas Eve, when Mary and Joseph would arrive on a donkey (was the donkey the Ass or were there both an Ass and a Donkey?  I am not sure.  Then Shepherds before midnight mass and then Jesus put in afterwards.

I'm left wondering if there are any decent Catholic prayers one says with the Advent wreath throughout the season.  I know Bishop Sheen had a book but they were meditations.
