Title: Sherman's March or an Intro to Southern Women
Post by: red solo cup on September 10, 2018, 04:52:46 AM
In 1981 Ross McElwee began a documentary on Sherman's march to the sea. But the film became more about his relationships, mostly failed, with various women. All of it in the shadow of nuclear war. A brief cameo by Burt Reynolds and a look at the Georgia Guidestones are included. Lot's of interviews and insights into Southern women. Some of the scars from Sherman's devastation are still visible.
A bit long but worth the time, it won a prize at the Sundance Film Festival.
