I am not exactly sure what I am supposed to do. Speak out against what exactly?

This is a very weird French marriage, where a man allegedly drugged his own wife, of 50 years, and let strangers rape her. Do I think that is going on in my neighbourhood or with my work colleagues or friends? No, I don't. Perhaps that is naïve of me.

But even so, how would I know which of my normal friends was drugging his wife and inviting strangers to rape her? How exactly would I be privy to that information to speak out about it?

"Hey Philip, do you swing and is your wife wholly sober and in full control or her faculties when you do? If not we need a word about consent buddy!"

This is not the sort of conversation I have had nor could see myself having.  I am British, we're a reserved bunch and don't tend to bring up questions about people's sex-lives in the course of business conversations.

Degenerate people are going to do degenerate things to other degenerate people, as well as people who are foolish or unlucky enough to hang around with them and decide to marry them. What can I possibly do to stop that? Volunteer as some sort of non-participatory compliance umpire at their swinger's parties?

Something very odd about it.  I'm no gynaecologist, but I have to think that a post menopausal woman would feel something wasn't right down there if she woke up after that happening to her repeatedly over 9 years.

If I woke up with my ass sore and I hadn't eaten a chicken vindaloo or 500grams of salted pistachios the night before, then I would suspect something was wrong. In 9 years she never noticed that half the toilet role in the ensuite was suddenly used up over night, or the hand towel was wet?  No rapist ever lost his sock or stole a souvenir of his visit.   No neighbour ever asked who the four male guests they had over were?

Had Gisele consented to exactly the same activity she would have been hailed as "liberated and empower older women exploring her sexuality and getting satisfaction from younger men".

So to speak out for this rape victim one needs to know she was not consenting and the only people who knew that were her rapists.  She did not even know herself because she was unconscious.

The actions of many men gathering in the house, would not have given you enough evidence to speak up.  Had you done sol you would be accused of being a closed minded judgemental bigot.

Turns out she has ignored repeated complaints about her husband being a rapey pervert from her daughter, her step daughter and her grandchildren.  He was even caught filming up skirts and she defended him.

Only when she was the victim did she speak up.

I haven't read the case but heard about it briefly and I stayed away from it because it had a hint of me too about it.  And frankly with how cheap prostitutes are, I don't understand hoards of men queueing up to have a go at this lady at that age.  I could be wrong but Walter Mitty came to mind and she may also be a pervert too and takes part in certain activities.  I live rural here in Ireland and a neighbour down the road told my husband he goes to swinging get togethers and he is awful looking farmer in his late 60's.  He wasn't lying.

It explains why she ran cover for the husband when he was arrested for photographing up women's skirts and why she ignore her daughter's, step daughters and grandchildren's calls when they accused him of sexual abuse.  She knew he was, but the consequences were disastrous.

He has been caught and since he was the instigator of it he has done a deal where only he rots in jail.  That way the house is kept, the children and grandchildren are not impoverished and his wife can write a book and do TV interviews and retire comfortably.

The other possibility was that she was the last victim.  He abused the daughter and daughter in law and granddaughter but somehow did not abuse his wife of 50 years until she was aged 59-68.

That seems a less likely to me.

I don't know anything about this case.  The big problem is that this guy supposedly gave his wife the perfect dose of drugs for this to work?  Over NINE years?  Whether she had eaten, or not, or had a glass of wine will effect the dosage.
