Weird forum semi-filter

Hi all,
I've had some concern over the forum not posting posts with a few certain words in it. 

I have investigated the matter somewhat, and found that it is not a setting on SMF, so it must be with the forum's hosting service.  I will be contacting the company shortly to clear up why things like "Proz@c" and other such oddities can't be posted without throwing an error.

Ahh, this explains that issue some of us were having.  How normal is it for a host to block you using certain words on your site?  That seems odd.  I was having trouble posting on the marital intercourse thread.

One wonders if the host is attempting to keep from hosting any drug or porn related sites.

They might be trying to avoid the kind of spam where everyone's a drug pusher.

That must be correct OC.  The other day I tried to post something with the brand name of an ED medicine in it and got an error message.

It doesn't explain why certain sexual words are banned, however.  They must also be trying to keep porn or porn spam off the host.
