Hello from Long Island, NY

(1/6) > >>

BG:
What brings you to SD?

I was on Roosh V's forum and saw a link posted by a member of the forum after he announced his forum was going to have an Orthodox slant.

Are you a member of other Internet fora?  If so, care to mention which one(s)?

Roosh V's forum.

Why did you choose your username and avatar?

My username is my initials. I did not think of a unique name at the time I registered.

What is your state of life - single, married, religious, or still discerning?

I am married.

I am an ethnically-Jewish, formerly-atheistic convert to Catholicism.

Whereabouts do you live "in real life"? (be as specific or as general as you wish!)

Long Island, New York.

Personality type?

I am likely what is considered a Debater (ENTP) though I am not totally extroverted. I am an ambivert.

Favorite books?

Most of the books I have read in the past few years are about the sexual revolution, which I believe is one of the foremost threats to Western Civilization and the family unit. I have read many books in my life, but here are a few I have read in the past few years.

I am also in the middle of following a Bible reading plan.

Sexual Utopia in Power by Roger Devlin
Sex and Deviance by Guillaume Faye
The New Politics of Sex by Dr. Stephen Baskerville
Sword of Christ by Giles Corey

There are other books that hit home with me, but they are highly politically incorrect. I am unsure if I should list them here.

Favorite movies?

I used to watch many movies before I converted, some of which I still would like to watch again. However, since I converted, I no long approve of most of these movies. So I do not care to list them.

Favorite TV shows?

The same goes for TV shows.

Favorite sports/teams

I no longer watch sports, as I believe, like with most cinema, they have been degraded and lend to idol worship and degenerate culture.

I used to be a bodybuilder, competed once, earned a natural pro card, and never competed again.

Have any hobbies?

Reading, cooking, and I am still a gymrat and dedicated to fitness, but I do not work out in the manner I used to. I plan on being fit my whole life. I lift three times per week and do cardio other days.

Pet peeves: Nosiness and compulsive talking.

Fun random fact about yourself: I do not think any facts about me are fun.

I am looking to communicate with others in the faith, and maybe even meet people near me in real life. The internet has served me well considering I met one of my closest friends from it through another forum unrelated to religion in the past.

That is unique in itself! Welcome, BG.

That is a nice name: very short and easy.

It is good to be careful about what one publishes publicly, however, you'll find that "politically correct" discourse is not found here.

(Watch out for those who hold a certain view on certain ethnic backgrounds.)

Natural, fake natural, or enhanced?

High bar or low bar?

This forum is a bit odd, so be sure to keep a strong sense of self. Don't let the tumult here toss you around.

Michael Wilson:
Welcome to the Forum; we have a couple of ethnic-Jews that are converts here; and one at least that lives in N.Y. Area, "Chestertonian".
I agree with you about keeping fit and leaving off the body building; and nixing the movies and t.v. shows.
Great to have you here.

Maximilian:
As an ex-bodybuilder who is still a "gym rat," you ought to be a nutrition expert.
I've found that "bro science" tends to be way ahead of medical science.

There is nothing like someone appealing to science to say something is impossible or does not work when one has lived it to the contrary.
