Ashita, Mama ga Inai (Tomorrow, Mama won't be here). About foster children living in an orphanage and being adopted. Very good. The subtitles are less than ideal, but they're better than nothing. This is the first modern Japanese series that I've watched, and I'm pleasantly surprised.

I noticed Netflix was carrying Fated to Love You and decided to try it since Maximilian had recommended Korean TV. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a show this much. It is engaging and has underlying values that I actually agree with.

There was an episode in which a character was planning an abortion and just about every other character realized that this is a horrible thing and was trying to stop her. I doubt that a Western show would even try such a thing or get away with it if they did try.

Atsu Hime (Princess Atsu) Tells the life story of the woman who became the wife of the 13th Shogun, at the time when Japan first opened its ports to trade with the West. Fascinating. I especially appreciate the sense of duty, and how selfless the main characters are.
