I grew up hearing about Pancake Tuesday (which in Canada is accompanied by maple syrup  :canada:) and since then have heard of different customs from around the world.

I recently learned about a tradition associating sausage and sauerkraut with the days before Lent and have made a giant pot to serve at our big Sunday family meal today.  I am blessed to have several of my grown children and their families near enough to gather regularly like this.  Sundays are typically a day, not only of worship, but of good food and enjoying being together.

Anybody else have special foods or family customs for the time before Lent?

I love Thee, Jesus, my love.  Grant me the grace to love Thee always, and do with me what Thou wilt.

Oh I love paczki. Our local grocery store used to carry them.
