i have only been catholic since easter 04 so i only have rrcent memory...

there was the year of the eucharist... the jubilee year of st paul, the year of faith... i dont remember what special years francis declared but i cany keep them strsight

in ,2000 there was the jubilee year.

is this acgually traditional

I know that jubilee years are traditional (but I don't know much about them).

As for the recent popes declaring those other "years", I have no idea.  They sound like novelties but I could very well be wrong.
