I once was told by an expert on job search that successful people see everyone else as either a potential employee, or potential customer.  I thought that was rather crude at the time, and it still seems like a basically selfish outlook.  But I suppose it could be justified somehow or other, by defining the limits. 

Fr. Gruner was constantly networking.  Surely no one can find fault with him for that, or anything else.
