The 'Burbs. I love that movie.

Entertaining film, though too many instances of Our Lord's name taken in vain.  Other than that, I can see why it got all the Oscar hype.  Bruce Dern is quite a good actor, and I was really surprised to see Will Forte make the jump from SNL to a dramatic role like he did.

Love the scene in Lincoln where they pan the camera to the restaurant with the most heavenly buffalo wings in the world - The Watering Hole.  Alexander Payne must be a fan to have the camera lock on to that spot for a second or two.  I make special drives out to Lincoln just for those wings, and I'm rarely disappointed.  I know many of the FSSP seminarians at the OLG Seminary would agree.

Enders Game.

Surprisingly entertaining.
"All the good works in the world are not equal to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass because they are the works of men; but the Mass is the work of God. Martyrdom is nothing in comparison for it is but the sacrifice of man to God; but the Mass is the sacrifice of God for man." - St. John Vianney

Surprisingly entertaining.
The last part was a bit lacklustre. I think I would have liked the film a lot more if I hadn't read the book.

Ikiru (??? in japanese, means "to live"). A movie by Akira Kurosawa. Wonderful.

Ikiru is such a beautiful film.

The day Kurosawa died was a hard day.

The world is charged with the grandeur of God.
    It will flame out, like shining from shook foil;
    It gathers to a greatness, like the ooze of oil
Crushed. Why do men then now not reck his rod?
Generations have trod, have trod, have trod;
    And all is seared with trade; bleared, smeared with toil;
    And wears man's smudge and shares man's smell: the soil
Is bare now, nor can foot feel, being shod.

And for all this, nature is never spent;
    There lives the dearest freshness deep down things;
And though the last lights off the black West went
    Oh, morning, at the brown brink eastward, springs —
Because the Holy Ghost over the bent
    World broods with warm breast and with ah! bright wings.

Yes. He died September 6 1998. I actually remember seeing it on the news and having to sit down.

Strange how those we don't know personally can touch us.

I just saw The Amazing Spider-Man 2.  I didn't really like the first one much but I thought this one was better.

The 1945 British ghost classic Dead of Night. Very spooky.

I had no desire to run out and see this one(I really disliked the first), but I may try to see it this coming Friday.

Cap America - Winter soldier. Very good anti- New World Order theme. Very provocative
