Something about people fasting after the bridegroom leaves

What is the meaning of the scripture?

A prophecy of the time between His Death and His Resurrection.
"But he that doth not believe, is already judged: because he believeth not in the name of the only begotten Son of God (Jn 3:18)."

"All sorrow leads to the foot of the Cross.  Weep for your sins."

"Although He should kill me, I will trust in Him"

[15] And Jesus said to them: Can the children of the bridegroom mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then they shall fast.

[15] "Can the children of the bridegroom": This, by a Hebraism, signifies the friends or companions of the bridegroom.

Our Lord is referring to His death.
