U2: Zoo TV 1992 Washington D.C.
« on: July 23, 2020, 08:08:58 AM »
Even if you detest Rock and Roll and U2, the first 15 minutes of this is worth it for even the most amateur of cultural anthropologists.

Seemed even the liberals understood the power of brainwashing from TV less than 30 years ago.

But I love it all.  This was U2's peak imo.  From '91 through '97.

I am going to hold a pistol to the head of the modern man. But I shall not use it to kill him, only to bring him to life.

It's called culture-jamming.

The TV was bad when it presented, anti-Socialist, pro-American, white-propaganda.

Now that TV and media have ascended the fuddy old, individualist, conciousness, and is presently broadcasting revolutionary introspection and "wokeness" it's good.

There is nothing of value in the above-posted clip, except to display the unmitigated hypocrisy of the Revolution.
Pray for President Rahowa Joe.

So says you.

I don't agree that Bush I, in his famous crack cocaine speech, in which they "sampled" the word 'rock' to get "we will, we will, rock you", was Pro-American in any way.

In other presentations of this tour, you see Hitler Youth banging on drums on the screens.  I suppose it's lost on you that Rock and Roll spectacles such as this, with U2 being one of the few bands that could ever pull it off, were as close as people of my generation ever got to a Nuremberg Rally.

I understood that then, as far back as 1978, seeing the Rolling Stones in broad daylight in Soldier Field in Chicago.

That many of your fellow humans have been deceived by this same medium, among other channels, to accept the Democrat Party being more about sexual revolution than economic justice and workers' rights is indeed a problem.

Don't fault the young for knowing something is wrong in any generation.  They have been failed spectacularly by their elders since I've been a youth.

The Church hasn't been doing Her job for quite sometime.  People need to assemble.  And a U2 crowd is a good group of people by and large.  Many Christians.

The Last Night On Earth is about Judas's betrayal and the Last Supper.

So thanks for your great input.  But you look like a clod.

Pro-abortion U2

“It is huge and I know there is a huge divergence of opinion on it and I accept that and it is hard to take a stance without having to acknowledge there is another side to it but I am for it and I support repeal. It is the smart thing to do.”

All accurate, Greg.  My point was not hero worship, even if I may have sounded like it in the reply to Delry.

Sorry Delry.  I didn't need to call you a 'clod' at the end but I was typing hot.  No excuses.  And I own up to it.

I don't know if they went wrong somewhere after mega-fame or if they were always wrong on these issues and they never came up.

I have certainly noticed that since 2001, U2 has become something of a Davos Party Band and NGO for the New World Order.  It's scary.

One of the scenarios I had concocted was that when people like this become multi-billioniares and they are mainstream cool a time may come where they are asked to return a favor if they want to keep all that cash.

Just one thought.  No excuses for these Gay Marriage, Abortion, loving creeps!  It sure didn't end well with these.

Check their teeth against the younger U2.  Perhaps they changed the entire band for body doubles and buried the original band members in a bog.

Either that or they had good PR and fans believed what they wanted to believe.
