Brand new Computer is ridiculously slow

My generous aunt got me a new laptop on Thursday (from Amazon). It’s an HP 15t “business laptop” according to the description. It’s insanely slow to start up. I’ve spent all day doing updates, resets, downloads, etc., and contacting HP so they could do updates, resets and downloads. It’s still slow, no improvement whatsoever. Is there anything else I can do or did I just get a lemon? I really just want to return it.

Hit it with a hammer a couple of times real hard; that is the way I deal with intractable appliances.

Is this it:  https://www.amazon.com/HP-1980x1080-Touscreen-Processor-Bluetooth/dp/B077RK32QD/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8?  Two reviews out of only 10 total say it has a very slow start up. (Average rating 3.4)

I hope your aunt will let you get you a replacement.  I usually check the Amazon reviews (number and average rating) when I buy something, but of course there are a lot of other criteria....

At this stage get a refund. Re-installing Windows would be a thing if it happened much later, but now, just get a refund, even if it's annoying.

Hard to install anything on what sounds like either a fried motherboard or failed hard drive. Return is in order.

It's on its way back. Poor HP rep did everything he could to try to fix it, but to no avail. :(
