Ave Maria!
It seems to me that when you go to a Priests for cure of souls (spiritual direction) or go to a psychologist (or something similar) you often discus the same things but in a different way it seems to me.
What can you say about this?
Is cure of souls and spiritual direction the same thing, ie just being different terms?

Daniel

I am not familiar with the term "cure of souls".

Spiritual direction is supposed to be about making progress in your spiritual or prayer life, attaining virtue, or doing away with imperfections, vices, sins, devils, other spiritual problems, etc.; psychotherapy is supposed to be about dealing with or correcting mental, emotional, social, or behavioural problems. But I can see how there'd be some overlap. It would probably not be unreasonable to talk with your spiritual director about your anger, for example.

I would personally stay away from psychotherapy unless you know a psychologist who is thoroughly Catholic.
